subject: How Does Blood Pressure Medicine Works? [print this page]

I was about to doze off when I heard the words heart attack and stroke. This was matter of fact mentioned in conjunction with the advertisement for high blood pressure medicine.

There are many people who are having problem due to these medicines. My activity called Natural High Blood Pressure Program has brought down their problem.

I'm very familiar with most of these drugs. But when I started to analyze I gathered lots surprising details about these drugs. Many doctors used to give medicines with the same name to everyone.

When the blood pressure level is increased above 90 to 140 it is said to be High blood pressure.

It can affect heart, eyes, kidney and brain. This will cause various problems to these organs.

Blindness, drowsiness and impairment of rigidity in sex organs are the difficulty to be faced. Along with that the signs of increase in blood pressure cannot be noticeable in early part of high blood pressure

Some people are painfully aware of symptoms though including blurry eye sight, headaches, sweating and clamminess and nausea. Measuring your blood pressure is only true way to validate high blood pressure.

It cannot be identified by examining once. Checking of the blood pressure should be done frequently.

The possible side effects of using the drugs should be told to the patients before they use it. ACE Inhibitors, Beta Blockers, Calcium Channel Blockers and Diuretics are the four drugs that I am going to explain my experience on this day.

Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors help blood vessels relax by blocking the production of angiotensin II. Some commonly prescribed ACE inhibitors include: benazepril (Lotensin), captopril (Capoten), enalapril (Vasotec), lisinopril (Prinivil, Zestril) ,quinapril (Accupril, Mavik) and ramipril (Altace).

The medicines come along with the following side effects Long term coughing, pain in head, pain in heart and sometimes it even affects kidney.

The common Beta Blockers are acebutolol (Sectral), atenolol (Tenormin), carvedilol (Coreg), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), nadolol (Corgard) and penbutolol (Levatol). The beat level of the heart is lowered due to the lack of communication between the heart and nerves, which will bring down the pressure of the blood.

Mental exhaustion, Confusion, Inability to retain knowledge, unable to make sex, breathing difficulty, depression and even psychiatric disorder like imagining of some ones presence in his absence are some of the defects caused by the drugs

Some of the beta blockers are amlodipine (Norvasc), diltiazem (Cardizem, Dilacor XR) felodipine (Plendil), nicardipine (Cardene), nifedipine (Adalat, Procardia), and verapamil (Calan, Covera, Isoptin, Verelan). Calcium Channel Blockers are the medicine that stops calcium from entering the heart and other blood vessels. It also brings down blood pressure and squeezes the blood vessels.

Unpleasant feeling in heart, nose problems, breathing problems, distress in taking of food, sleepiness, impairment of sexual organs, brain and heart problems are some of the effects. It is said to be that they will stop the problems of heart and brain.

And finally diuretics. The body flushes fluid and sodium which helps to lower blood pressure. Some of the common ones are hydrochlorothiazide, furoseminde and chlorthalidone.

Side effects include: electrolyte imbalances, impotence, breast enlargement in men (gynecomastia), increased blood sugar and blurred eye sight.

If you want to get off hypertension drugs, I recommend doing it gradually.

My all natural High Blood Pressure Program works to eliminate the need for the drugs. You're doctor may be hesitant, but most traditional doctors are. You're proof will be in the numbers.
