subject: Finding Cheap Liposuction Alternatives In Different Countries Is Easy, But Is It Safe? [print this page]

While price should be a factor when you're considering elective cosmetic surgery, choosing the right plastic surgeon is the single most important part of the decision. If the price of the procedure is the primary factor, the risks of the surgery increase greatly. Cheap liposuction often means sacrificing quality. The success of the surgery and its outcome is almost totally dependent on the qualifications and experience level of the surgeon. That said, it is possible to find the necessary combination of qualifications and experience outside of the country.

Budget conscious cosmetic surgery patients are starting to use medical travel as a means of saving money and are getting more and more procedures done in other countries. The low cost of living and overhead in other countries makes it possible for completely qualified surgeons to perform the surgery for a fraction of the price it would cost in the U.S., U.K, and other leading countries.

What people now do is calculate the difference in price between their home country and the country where they decide to get the surgery done, then apply the difference to overall costs for an extended trip, and call it a vacation or business trip, which can usually be a tax deduction. Because many doctors that perform cosmetic surgeries are located in exotic islands and destinations, it's not uncommon for people to choose this route.

When planning your trip around the surgery, it's important to consider everything thoroughly before making your final decisions. How much will the trip itself cost with flights, hotels, car rentals, child care (if applicable), entertainment, etc.? Also, what about additional, and possibly hidden or repressed fees from the hospital or doctor like medicines needed, room fees, etc.? What about the costs of extending your stay, should something go wrong? All things considered, overall costs will usually still be substantially less, but make sure you're weighing in the hard costs as well as possible intangible costs.

Throughout the U.S. and Europe getting cosmetic surgery performed can be very costly with prices rising with each passing year, however, outside of these countries other areas like Costa Rica, Thailand, and South America are rising in popularity as safe and affordable destinations for effective cosmetic procedures like liposuction.

Many plastic or cosmetic surgeons from other countries get their training in the U.S., then go back to their homeland to practice because they know U.S. clients will come to them. When considering a cosmetic surgeon outside the U.S. just remember to do plenty of research. Study the country's medical standards, it's laws, it's openness to U.S. visitors, and most importantly, the surgeon.
