subject: Medical Transcription Employers Will Want You [print this page]

I want to become a medical transcriptionist because I love to type and learn new words. I have always excelled at English and writing. My mother-in-law has been a medical transcriptionist for thirty five years and has loved every minute of her career.

I have always wanted to work in the medical field. However, I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease thirteen years ago and that put a halt to my nursing dreams. While looking for an alternative career path, I decided to put the things I am good at together and came up with medical transcriptionist. I have had to put off my dream of medical transcription while relocating with my husband's job and raising my family. Now that my children are older, I am looking to re-enter the workforce as a medical transcriptionist.

Some of the advantages of working in the medical transcription field are the flexibility, professionalism, and the job itself. I like the fact that I would have a choice of working in an office or at home. The advantage of this is great for someone who is physically challenged by health problems or who may have a young family at home. I believe that a medical transcriptionist is a highly trained and skilled professional and one would have to keep up with the changing medical field. With all of these changes one will need to continue to learn and grow with this field of work.

I am very interested in working with Future MT inc. for several reasons. First the cost of the program is reasonable compared to other quality schools. As a one income family, financial resources are scarce and this course is reasonably priced. Second, the cd-rom and book combination is more interesting than the tapes that come with the other programs. I like that Future MT inc. has kept up with technology and has combined the courses with both print and electronic advantages. Lastly, I am encouraged by the fact that I will not be left alone to look for work with medical transcription employers after I graduate. I have read so many posts made my new medical transcriptionists complaining that they need experience to get started in this field. The help looking for at home medical transcription jobs as a new graduate will be a priceless benefit of making Future MT your school of choice. SN:0TG9Y2ESY

My goals as a medical transcriptionist are to graduate and take the certified medical transcriptionist certification test. In five years, I would like to have experience in all fields of medicine. In seven years, I would like to own my own medical transcription business. Eventually, I would like to teach medical transcription to those who may not be able to get training otherwise through a community outreach program. To help someone get ahead that otherwise would not be able to afford a medical transcription education would not only benefit them, I would receive the joy of changing a life for the better.

The medical transcription field is changing, but I believe that with all of the changes going on, the medical transcriptionist will never be obsolete. As medicine evolves, so will the need for educated and well-trained medical transcriptionists. For more information, visit www.MTRecruiters.com
