The Problem

Getting the most from selling on eBay can be a difficult business. There are so many people selling on eBay these days, so how can you make sure that your auctions sell for the money they deserve. I've been playing Magic the Gathering (MTG} for over 10 years now, and have been buying and selling Magic the Gathering (MTG) cards on eBay for a lot of that period. I have learnt many hidden secrets that most eBay users tend to either not know about, or ignore. Maximise your earnings from eBay, here's an insight into what's possible.

The Fundamentals

One of the most vital things to learn about any selling process is that you need to market your item properly otherwise, firstly no one will find your item, or secondly, if they do find your item, they wont be interested enough to buy your item. So the key is in optimising the tools available in eBay to be able to market your item to its full potential. The following fundamentals can be used to maximise your selling potential on eBay, and will aid you to successful market your Magic the Gathering cards:

Use Keywords in your titles - sounds simple, but it's amazing how many people don't do this. You need to make sure that the title on each of your items accurately describes your item, and is going to advertise your item to the maximum. You only have a short number of characters for your item's title, 55 in total, so make them count - use as many as possible. Make sure you have as many of the following keywords in your title as possible:

Magic

MTG

Magic the Gathering

Card Name

Card Set

Quantity

Bulk (if applicable)

Always have one premium item on sale - one important thing to remember is that your items are great at cross-promoting each other. Now, this premium item can be a chase rare, mythic rare, a big bulk collection, or a special foil - they will all attract many buyers to your auctions. Once people are looking at your auctions, you can be assured that they will have a look at your other auctions too, so having this one gem is key.

Make Sure You Have a Featured Auction in My World - everyone has a My World page on eBay; this is your personal advertising space. On your My World page you can highlight a featured auction that you want to attract people to - utilise this to promote your premium auction as mentioned above and get people flocking to your auctions!

Summary

Hopefully this has given you a small insight into some of the ways you can optimise your listings on eBay and help to make the most of your auctions on eBay. It's amazing the difference these simple tips can make to your success on eBay.
