APPLE HAS given away more details regarding operating system upgrades for the iPad in the future. The first upgrade will be provided free of cost to the users.The company will charge the i-pad users for the subsequent major OS upgrades.The electronics titan on Monday kicked off seeding the Golden Master iteration of its iPhone OS 3.2 software development kit (SDK) to developers, which will incidentally be the iteration of the OS that powers the iPad.

Indicating the same, the licensing agreement mentioned: Apple will provide any iPad OS software updates that it may release from time to time, including any major OS, but for a feeAdditionally, the company also issued iPad licensing agreement on its server, in which it asserted that the iPad owners would receive a major OS upgrade after the one that comes shipped with the device, and after that, all such upgrades would have a fee.

The much awaited i-pad has started receiving preorders.It is believed that if the product is successful, it will redefine the computing landscape just like the i-phone did.

The analysts expect it to be a hit. Morgan Stanley's Katy Huberty expects Apple to ship more than 6 million iPads this year, much higher than the expected 3 to 4 million units. Reports reveal that for each million iPads sold, Apple will earn an additional 25 a share.

The WiFi-only version of the iPad will be released on April 3, with WiFi-and-3G versions made available to consumers very soon

Apple claims that with the release of the device ,nearly 15000 mobile applications will be made available . One of the apps to debut with the iPad will be iWork, Apple's software suite for documents, spreadsheets and presentations.

The curiosity level of all the tech-savvys is at peak.
