subject: Is 3d Technology The Next Big Thing For Movies? [print this page]

Most people have noticed that some new movies have a 3D version that they can see in theaters. Is this type of technology going to be the next big thing for movies? With the way things are going, it seems like it.

3D technology used to look corny when you see them in shows like "My Bloody Valentine 3D" as they would often have the type of visuals where a blade or chainsaw is popping out of the screen at you. If you have only witnessed these types of movies, you might think that movies moving to 3D might be a bad idea. However, if you got to witness movies like "Up" or "Avatar" in 3D, then you saw the beauty that 3D can offer. In those types of movies, the 3D offers more of a depth, giving you a more real feeling while watching the movie.

However, most movies are still not in 3D, but more movies are starting to offer this kind of experience every year. With the recent success that the movie "Avatar" has had with its 3D offering, we can expect more movies to follow its footsteps. In the next year alone, we have "Toy Story 3", "Alice in Wonderland", and "Shrek Forever After" all offering 3D versions of their movies. These movies are all practically guaranteed to be a success, which will also help make 3D a more common feature of movies.

Judging by how successful many 3D movies are becoming, it is safe to assume that 3D movies are going to be the next big thing for movies.
