subject: Ways To Keep Your Clients Forever [print this page] But how do you do it with the least amount of money and the least amount of stress?
I will explain it to you its easy really!
First of all, I cant express this enough.
You must stay in touch with all of your clients or you will lose them and hardly ever get their referrals.
This is really the most critical part of the business.
I dont care what business you are in at this point a service business, restaurant business, cosmetics doesnt matter!
Most people Never do this and its a big reason why about 90% of new businesses fail each and every year and they wonder what the heck they did wrong!!
Let me tell you a quick story to emphasize this.
When I had my small service business, I got a call from someone I mailed my hot little Magic Yellow Flyer
During the job, she advised me that she would have called the previous provider but she lost their business card - and - the company Never sent them a greeting card, reminder card or anything!
So I got the call instead and made $570.00 dollars!!
Now - do you think I sent her a reminder greeting card during the year like I did ALL my clients?? You know I did - no doubt!
Moral of the story - keep in touch or I GUARANTEE YOU - you WILL lose your clients! I can NOT stress this enough!
IT TAKES JUST 3 STEPS:
STEP 1
Just buy in bulk online, some generic nature scene greeting cards.
STEP 2
It only takes about $7 dollars per customer per year.
All you do is pull $7 dollars out, from the payment you receive from each and every customer you service for the year.
Its tax deductible a marketing expense.
(Contact an accountant if you have questions about tax deduction.)
Put that money as you collect it, all in 1 envelope and write customer contact fund on the envelope.
This will cover you for 3 greeting cards for the year, per customer.
You will be slowly spending that money during the year by sending out cards to those same customers - so save their names and addresses either in a computer program file or by hand in a record book of some sort.
Customize it to fit your business. Get some made and send it out to the customer after about 1 week from the day you serviced them.
Thats it for the thank you post card - done!
@ Always send 1 card to your clients in the 1st week of March. (Beginning of the service season)
@ Always send 1 card to your clients between June - August. (Mid service season)
@ Always send 1 card to your clients between September October. (End of service season)
STEP 3
What to write inside the cards:
You can ether hand write or have them pre printed at most print shops or online printers.
Hi there:
Just a quick hello from your (Business You Are In) specialist.
Hope all is well and you are enjoying this nice time of year.
Sincerely,
John Doe
your (business your in) expert
xyz company
P.S. Dont put off getting (your carpet cleaned-house washed etc) for the season. I will offer you a loyal client discount of (5% 7% 10% 15% etc) off!
Call me while you still have this card in your hand. 888-9999
P.P.S We love referrals and would really appreciate you telling your friends and family about us today!
Each referral that hires me earns you a $25.00 gift card of your choice no limit.
If a referral hires you call the referrer and ask if she would like a $25.00 gas card or cash card and send it as a thank you.
If you do just this you are doing more than most small business owners.
This is how you quietly fly under the radar and build a massive base of loyal clients. It seems like a lot of work but trust me its not. Just do it!
