The NCAA will have its second bowl game of the 2010 year which is the Humanitarian Bowl on Saturday December 18, 2010. The teams competing in this game will be the Northern Illinois Huskies vs Fresno State Bulldogs. The Humanitarian Bowl game has been around since 1997 and is considered to be the longest running cold weather bowl game. The game will be aired on television or fans can watch NIU vs Fresno State online.
NIU has had their best season in the history of their school this year by pulling off a record of 10-3 and this years bowl game will be their 3rd straight bowl game. Their coach Jerry Kill led this team most of the year until accepting a new coaching job at Minnesota a couple weeks ago. Right before he made the decision to leave NIU had just completed a 9 game winning streak which was very uplifting for the team. The guy that will be replacing Kill is Dave Doeren who is currently the defensive coordinator for Winsconsin. He will be taking over the coaching vacancy as soon as their season is over meanwhile the Huskies linebackers coach Tom Matukewicz will fill as coach and hopefully lead this team to victory.

The staff and I are thrilled to have a plan in place to lead our football team at the Humanitarian Bowl in Boise, Idaho said Matukewicz when he assumed control. Our hearts were broken in Detroit, then we lost our coach on Sunday, so we have a choice to make. We can all come together as a team, a university, a community and a region for a common goal, or we can start to fracture. On December 18, on national television, we have an opportunity to tell our story about a great university and a team everyone can be proud of. We have three goals in Boise - win, have fun and celebrate one of the best seasons in school history.
The Bulldogs of Fresno State have won the their past 2 games and have a season record right now of 8-4. This bowl game will be their 4th straight bowl appearance. Running back Robbie Rouse should be a factor in todays game considering he missed their last game against Illinois due to a rib injury. He has been having a good year averaging nearly 110 yards rushing per game. Their offense is a high powered offense and has a season average of scoring at leat 30 points per game.
