The NCAA College Bowl season kicks off with the first bowl game called the New Mexico Bowl game starting at 2pm on Saturday December 18, 2010. The two teams playing in this bowl game are BYU and UTEP. It will be aired on ESPN for fans that are able to catch it at home but for fans that are not near a televsion, maybe you are at work or traveling, you can still pick up a live stream of the game online. With the beginning of the college bowl season avid NCAA fans want to make sure they see as many of these games as possible. UTEP and BYU took different paths to Albuquerque, but for both, this feels more like heaven. If I had to describe the season in one word, it would be 'gratifying BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall said of a season where his team started 2-5 before a late charge. I have enjoyed this one more than any other. Its been difficult, but through difficulty you learn more about yourself. BYU (6-6 and 5-3 in Mt. West) heads into this game having won five of their last seven and four of their last 5, with their last loss a heart-breaker to Utah on the road on a blocked game winning field goal in the closing minute.
The UTEP Miners have had a shaky year as well. They started the season off with a 5-1 record but then went on a losing streak of 5 games. Even though they have go a little downhill they still ended the season with securing their first postseason bid since back in 2005. We're really excited and glad to be here Miners coach Mike Price said. Thats the beauty of this game. Both teams have something to prove.
