Immediately after vacuuming molds and mildew, clean out the vacuum cleaner, dispose of the collection bag and wash or replace the filters as recommended by the manufacturer.

If molds have grown on any fabric then you can wash that with hot water and laundry bleach. Take care that you need to wear gloves during this. Combination of 30 or 35 percent hydrogen peroxide with an equal amount of water is good to use as bleach.

Wash or spray a solution containing half cup of chlorine bleach to two gallons of water to eliminate molds and mildew and then wash it with fresh water. Now let the area dry properly. You can also use mold-resistant paint and paint the affected walls.

Make a habit of washing the wet mats on regular basis. Put the wet carpet in sunlight. The cheap and best way to prevent mold and mildew growth in the house is to maintain cleanliness and dryness in your house.
