Installing a bathroom counter top sink is an important part of bathroom remodeling project. In market different types of sinks are available to install but self rimming drop-in bowl are quite easy to install in bathroom. For installing this sink, cut a hole in counter top so that the bowl can be fixed there.

The bathroom counter top sink bowl comes with a template for making the hole. Find the center of the counter top and position the template such that it centers over the center mark on the counter top. After that trace around the bathroom counter top sink template.

To cut the counter top, you first need to drill some 1/4" holes in order to insert the jigsaw. Once you have created the holes, your jigsaw would be able to enter and make the required cut.

Once you created the hole successfully, put the bathroom counter top sink inside that hole to check if the sink bowl properly adjust in that hole or not. If everything is fine you can carry on with assembling the faucet and drain assembly in the bowl.

First of all attach the metal drain pipe with the gasket, washers and lock nut to the drain hole in the bottom of the bowl. Use a little plumbing putty around the gasket and washer to ensure a waterproof seal.

Now fix the faucet assembly to the bowl and attach the hot and cold water supply lines to it with the help of washers and nuts supplied.

Self rimming drop-in bowl are quite heavy in weight. Therefore, you need to use some plumbers putty beneath the lip of the bowl before putting the sink bowl in the hole. For this particular sink, you should not use any other way of mounting. On the other hand for light weighted sink bowls, mounting clips can also be used to strongly attach the bowl to the counter top.

For a finishing touch apply a white bead of silicon caulk around the edge of the bathroom counter top sink bowl to get a waterproof seal. Finally connect the faucet supply hoses to the supply lines and turn on the supply valves. If everything works fine then your work is over.
