THE CARROLL LAW FIRM APPLE PIE
THE CARROLL LAW FIRM APPLE PIE

On the weekend of October 23-24, 2010, Anthem held their annual "Autumnfest" celebration. This year, the Anthem Neighborhood Watch sponsored an Apple Pie Bake-off for Anthem residents. The Carroll Law Firm PLC is pleased to announce that our very own Candace Carroll was the First Place Double Crust and Second Place Overall winner of the Bake-off! Her winning entry, made from a family recipe that has been handed down for generations, was titled "The Carroll Law Firm Apple Pie." We at The Carroll Law Firm PLC put the same effort and quality into our clients' cases as we do our pies.

THE "AWARD WINNING" CARROLL LAW FIRM APPLE PIE RECIPE

PIE CRUST:

2 cups Self-rising Flour

3/4 cup Buttermilk

1/2 cup Crisco Shortening

Mix flour, buttermilk and shortening. Knead on a floured cloth. Make 2 balls and roll each into 1/4" thickness. Line an aluminum pan with one portion of the crust. Begin with pie filling instructions.

PIE FILLING:

Apples, cored, peeled, sliced

1 1/2 cups of Sugar

2 Tbsp Honey

4Tbsp Butter or Margarine

3 Tsp Flour

2 Homemade pie crusts, rolled out

Preheat oven to bake at 350F. Put apples in a dish. Pour sugar over them, along with honey and flour. Let set for a while. Put mixture in bottom crust and chop butter pats into apple filling. Place crust on top, and wet fingers to close crusts around the edges. Make slits on top of crust.

Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Just before finished, take out and rub butter and sprinkle sugar on top crust.
