subject: Linkedin Essentials For Your Bartending Business [print this page]

As I've mentioned from previous articles, having the right combination of tools in your online marketing toolkit can have a great impact on you and the promotion of your business. Let's take a moment to discover the World's largest Business-Networking website: Linkedin.co

Professionals, job seekers and business owners use linkedin to market their own brand. You too can promote your bartending business on this network.

LinkedIn is a powerful networking tool if used properly. I personally know that I have not done enough to leverage LinkedIn for my business, but I know many who have. You want to look at LinkedIn as a way to network with other influential individuals at lightening speed. It is a way to get your name out there and promote your business.

The first thing you are going to want to do is sign up and make sure you complete 100% of your profile. NOTE: Do not start connecting with indidivuals while your profile is incomplete!

Next I would search for friends and past clients that already know you that way you can easily connect with them. You want to give some recommendations (which are like testimonials) and in return, you should receive some!

Next I would start to search for other caterers, djs and other party vendors in your area. With this strategy, you can really connect with these professionals and work on cross-promoting each others companies!

At this point, you might want to just start adding some key players and influential people that you find on LinkedIn. You never know when someone is looking for a bartender and they go straight to LinkedIn.

I also recommend Linkedin GROUPS and LIVE Events. If you can find other business professionals to meet and network in real life, you can start handing out business cards and promoting your services further.

I know the tips and steps I give are not as detailed and specific as most of my instructions, but I really suggest you take a few hours to just play around with LinkedIn and learn how to use it yourself. Once you are set up and moving, you shouldnt need to spend about 30 minutes every other day to keep your stuff updated and moving forward. (This includes checking messages and adding new people). One good benefit of completing all you the fields that should be filled up is that, people can have a guarantee that they are connecting to a real person.
