subject: How The Right Nightwear Can Help Achieve That Good Nights Sleep... [print this page]

The right nightwear is key to a good nights sleep as control of body temperature is vital:

The range of nightwear styles & fabrics now is huge- the industry has revolutionised itself over the last decade. No longer is nightwear frumpy & old fashioned but stylish & in gorgeous fashion colours.

Choose nightwear in a natural fabric that will let the skin breathe; this includes not only the staples of silk & cotton but fabrics made from new fibres such as micromodal & even milk. There are very many more nightwear fabrics than there were and in many different fibre combinations: cotton and modal, micromodal & cashmere, silk & cotton ... the list is almost endless.

Nightwear must fit comfortably; if necessary choose a size larger than your usual dress size.

Don't expect one or two pieces of nightwear to be perfect all year round. Style & fabric will need to change throughout the year; nightwear suitable for cold winter nights will be very different from that for summer & all points in between.

For winter choose brushed cotton, with its 'warm' feel which is perfect for the coldest nights, a heavyweight cotton jersey or micromodal with cashmere in cosy pyjamas or long sleeved nighties.

For spring & autumn lighter weight cotton jerseys or micromodal in a long or short sleeved style.

Summer is where sleeveless & shorter nighties come into their own in crisp cottons or cool micromodal or milk fabric.

Every woman is different; choose from the huge range available on the market to find what is best for you & don't be afraid of trying a new material- it could make all the difference to your quality of sleep.

Look great too- boost yourself by wearing something that makes you feel good about yourself- these days you'll be spoilt for choice.
