You know your child is growing up when he starts complaining about his room's wallpaper and decor. One great thing that a parent can do when he notices these changes is to suggest a total makeover for the nursery. The ideal time to do this is before your child reaches middle school.

This project is not necessarily expensive. To save money, you can construct some of the furnitures yourself, like the study table, the computer table, the bed frame and the cabinets. Roll up your sleeves, buy some furniture kits from the shop, and bring out your tools for some DIY fun. You can do this over the weekend.
Choose space saving furniture and appliances to allow your child to add some more stuff when he reaches high school. He will need space for his toy collection, and more space to entertain his friends.
Loft Beds
With a loft bed in place, you can create a study area underneath while your child sleeps on the elevated bunk bed. To build a loft bed, you will need a kit and a lot of patience when trying to find the best position for the bed. You may have to assemble the pieces of the loft bed inside the room if you're using a kit.
A good suggestion is to have full-size loft bed for the room.
Foldable Chairs and a Table
Childhood friends and classmates will be dropping by after school or during the weekends. This is the main reason why you should think of socialization when renovating your child's room. Foldable chairs are great to have around, and tables are always useful if you're serving lemonade inside the room. Nowadays, kids hang in other kids' rooms if they want to watch television, play games on the console or create projects for the school. Foldable chairs allow kids to sit on the floor if they want to.
Computer Table and Study Table
Computer tables are too small for any sort of project making, so make sure you have another "study" table inside your child's room. Some kids prefer working on homework with mom on the dining table, while others prefer to do it alone inside their room. Because of this, you should get him a study table that's different from his computer table.
Ceiling Fans
Thin-blade ceiling fans are recommended for better ventilation. The ceiling fan models with intricate designs are for the living room. Plain color and quiet are the characteristics you want in a ceiling fan if you want it to remain almost invisible in your child's room. The remote control ceiling fan can also be a good consideration.
Give your child the freedom to express himself by letting him choose some decorative items for his walls. Let him mount posters of his favorite artists or cartoon characters.
