First it was Robot Unicorn Attack that became an internet sensation will literally millions of gameplays in just a few weeks, now the most popular flash game on the web right now is QWOP. QWOP is an athletic game that has been online since 2008, but it recently became popular again after being featured on a youtube episode of RayWilliamJohnson.
Ray reviewed the game in his video titled "Goofy Run", he encourage users to try out the game as he explained how extremely difficult the online game is. The point of the game is to run 100 meters, that is considered successfully beating the game, however it's a bit harder then you think, the in game help button points out some useful tips, but that may not be enough to get you to the 100 meter mark.
QWOP is a game of timing skill and a lot of cursing, I don't think there is a soul out there that can beat the game the very first time playing it, in fact it would be impossible to beat the game on your first try because you would have to get a feel for the timing and movement, even after playing it a few times I only managed to get to around 30 meters, I myself have yet to be this challenging athletics game.
The rising popularity of QWOP caused it to be blocked by many workplaces and schools, luckily you can still play it online at school at a few other gaming sites. Compete against your friends to race to the 100 meters, maybe the developer will release a multiplayer version soon, that would be a really great idea, compete against others then have the scores saved on facebook, for now we will just have to enjoy the single player version.
An Iphone app for QWOP is on it's way according to the game developer, all you QWOP fans can now play the new popular flash game on your Iphone/smartphone of course the app is going to cost a couple of dollars but should be well worth the entertaining game.
