Background to this Research

The market share of foreign cars in local production is growing every year. This is a result of the Russian market potential and legislation. Despite the unstable economic situation in Russia, companies, which have entered into agreements concerning industrial assembly, have no plans to cancel intentions to establish local production.

In June 2009, for example, Nissan launched a Russian plant, which produced 2,400 cars during the second half of that year. The only company which cancelled its Russian project was Suzuki, Japan.
