subject: Cleaning Tenders The Process In The Private & Government Sector [print this page]

Cleaning tenders requests are given by the schools, hospitals or the companies. The cleaning arrangements should be straightforward. Any firm, school or hospital is very well aware of what is required. Thus, while making a tender proposal those requirements can be put as a basis for the quotation. When the contract is being given to cleaning service provider than the services should meet the correct level of cleaning otherwise another service provider is brought up. This is the present scenario of the commercial world.

All the briefs and the necessary requirements are mentioned in the proposal tender and as per those requirements the cleaning company prepares its quotation. Thus in order to gain cleaning tenders all the requirements has to be fulfilled otherwise the contract is not given. However even after the contract is given, underperformance should not be there, otherwise this would lead to terminating the contract and another company will be called up to take the things further.

Well the cleaning tenders in the government sector works in a very different way in comparison with the private companies. In government sector the contracts are being looked upon by the bureaucrat. The bureaucrat look after the tender requirements, investigate the companies which are taking part for the tender proposals and then to oversee the contracts. Everything is documented in a government tender. Appropriate forms are filled and documentation is reached from one level to another prospective level. But in this way a lot of time and money is used which can be easily spent on hiring more cleaners to carry out the job.

Moreover, in the government sector there is also another management level which takes care of the complaints of cleaning and investigates the same. But this procedure also ends up in filling endless forms and report sheets which further waste a good amount of time and money, but the cleaning doesnt improves. So, the priority should be given to improve the services rather than spending and wasting millions of rupees in the process of hiring and investigating, which goes into the pockets of the civil servants!

In the case of schools, the task of taking decision on the cleaning service provider should be given to the principal of the school, but instead they dont get the proper right for same. Moreover the teachers or the principal cannot raise their voice against this as they are scared of losing their job. They are very well aware at times that the cleaning service provider may not be an approved one but still they cannot raise their concern in front of the bureaucrat.

In the Hospitals many levels of managers are made to look after the cleaning level. Millions of rupees are wasted per tender to many big MNCs because it is said that bigger is better and saves lot of money and time.

Hence the right to choose the correct cleaning service provider should be given to the smaller unit of the hospital and schools. As only the smaller unit knows how and where the money can be put as to get the proper service level and cleaning. This is the only way cleaning will improve and money will be saved. So everyone should know about their priority while going for cleaning tenders.
