There are some programs that are considered the top sonography programs, though. The job outlook is good regardless of where you went to school, but these top sonography/ultrasound programs produce more of the best professionals in this field that any other.

Students may complete certificate programs or bachelors degrees in ultrasound and sonography technology at vocational schools, community colleges and universities in order to move into these careers. The following are considered to be the top ultrasound programs in the nation:

Seattle University: This is one of the older schools to take ultrasound courses at, having been founded in 1891. There are 3,911 undergraduates with 13 students per faculty member and an annual tuition of $22,905. The average student had a high school GPA of 3.5, ACT scores between 24 and 29 and SAT scores between 1,000 and 1,099.

Newman University: The sonography courses and programs at this university range from certificate and associate degree programs to bachelors and masters degrees. There are 1,843 undergraduate students with one faculty member for every 17 students. It costs $15,822 to attend and the average student had a high school GPA of 3.3, ACT scores between 18 and 23 and SAT scores between 1,000 and 1,099.

University of Oklahoma: This is considered one of the top ultrasound programs because the school manages to retain more freshman than many others, so there is a good prospect for any student that begins taking courses here. There are 12,103 undergraduates with 21 students per faculty member and annual in-state tuition of $4,493. The average student had a high school GPA of 3.6, and ACT scores between 24 and 29.

Although these are considered the top sonography programs, there are many other fine schools all over the nation to choose from.
