Then you are supposed to go out and approach (which is a nice way of saying chase and hunt) everyone you know -- friend, family, co-workers, and neighbors -- and convince them (which is a nice way of saying beg and twist their arm) that they want to be in business with you. Really, not fun at all.
Inevitably, and instead of achieving the goal of growing your downline faster, you end up with some percentage of your friends/family avoiding you and a LOT of people who will join your business to make you happy only to drop out a month or two later. Is it any surprise you aren't able to grow your downline faster and create a profitable business?
The reason is that this way which you were likely taught to build your business is very ineffective -- and if you're lucky will get you the size downline you want in maybe a couple of years. Yes, that's right I said years (not weeks or months).
The key to being able to grow your downline faster, apart from the necessity to basically erase ALL of these marketing ideas from your mind, is to know how to become the hunted instead of the hunter (to have people who already want what you have to offer approaching YOU). When you learn how to do that, you will not only grow your downline faster, but you will have a much higher retention rate . . . and probably avoid losing 2 or 3 friends in the process.
