Clean Energy: Solar Power Panels or Magnetic Generators? Pros and Cons

If we take a glance at the several possibilities of introducing an Alternative Energy System for our residence, we realize that two of the options we can select are a Solar Energy System or a Magnet-based Electricity Generator.

Generally speaking, I would say that both sources of energy are valid. However, each way has some advantages and disadvantages that we must bear in mind. The advantages of an alternative, clean and renewable energy are clear, chiefly because the gotten energy is totally free and non-contaminating, but it has some disadvantages as well. One is the space the introduction of these systems requires in our homes: whereas the solar panels can be built on the roof of our house, the magnetic generator requires a specific space to be placed, usually inside our house. But this small inconvenience would not be an obstacle if we actually are for a sustainable, clean energy to supply the electricity need of our home.

The biggest impediment when building a home clean energy system is, for the majority of us, the available budget. Solar energy for powering our home and its several lights and devices would be wonderful, but a full home solar energy system is actually too expensive to fit in the financial possibilities of the average family in nearly all countries in the world.

Moreover, buying a magnetic generator is not as simple as that since, at the time I am writing this article, I do not know of any company that is making and distributing this form of generators.

Therefore, the issue in that case could be to introduce a DIY or homemade energy system, be it a solar energy or a magnet generator system.

There are some ways in which we can build a set of solar panels ourselves (the most expensive element in the solar energy system) as well as make a magnet-based generator with the eventual help of some mechanic experts nearby.

In my opinion, we should try both systems, because the solar thermal energy or STE (that is, the technology for utilizing solar energy in order to get hot water and heating systems) is not as expensive as photovoltaics (which turns solar energy directly into electricity). In my recent stay in India, I was glad to find out that in some hostels there was "unlimited" hot water service and that this was because of the solar thermal energy systems they had built up on the roof of their buildings. It was a very encouraging bit of news to see how people are going towards alternative, renewable and non-polluting energy sources all around the world.

Regarding the electrical power our homes need, a photovoltaic electricity system would be the solution provided that the solar panels were not so outrageously expensive! To overcome this obstacle we have two choices: either we make the solar panels ourselves or we take to the magnet-based generator. If you asked me "what would you choose?" my answer would be: "Both!" (Whenever possible, of course, and little by little at any rate).

Finally, if we want to help each other and ourselves by utilising non-polluting energy sources for the sake of our planet, the two choices mentioned in this article are a very good solution. Nevertheless, they are not the only possibilities in order to power our homes with clean energy: wind energy is also a very good alternative too, but of this I will speak elsewhere!
