CityVille Game - Zynga's New Game

Zynga, the creator of popular social games such asFarmville andFrontierville, is coming out with yet another game based on a classic video game, and it is called asCityVille. The game is heavily inspired from the popular simulation game,The Sims, which is widely regarded by many people as the best simulation game ever made. Cityville hopes to cash in on this popularity by adding a social twist to the game and bringing it out in a new online avatar. The promos of Cityville were out recently, and it seems that Zynga has left no stone unturned in ensuring that the game reflects the Sims in every way possible.

Thesocial twist that Zynga has added is that the game has to be played along with friends, just like the other Zynga games. Once the player has added neighbours/friends, the city can start expanding at a rapid pace, and friends can start businesses in each others' cities, thus helping the city grow. This is a new concept which Zynga hopes will find appeal among the players. Other than this, there is almost no difference between Cityville and The Sims. The objectives are the same, and the game play is also very similar to that of the Sims.

One noticeable feature about Cityville is that it is Zynga's first 3D game. All the sprites are in 3D and the game really looks good. Of course, this means that players with limited connections will lose a lot more bandwidth, so that is something to watch out for. Features wise, the game seems to be loaded with them. In order to ensure that the players do not get bored after reaching the higher levels, the developers have planned to keep introducing interesting missions that have to be completed to advance to new levels. This is the same strategy that is keeping Farmville alive even today, so it remains to be seen whether the same strategy will work for a game where players are expected to build a bustling city from scratch.

Cityville is expected to launch very soon, and Zynga will no doubt try to lure its large user-base playing Farmville into playing Cityville as well. There are over 80 million registered users for Farmville and at least 20 million players for Frontierville. Going by these numbers, there is no doubt that Cityville will also prove to be another massive hit for Zynga.
