With Vaikunta Ekadashi, one of the biggest festivals celebrating Lord Srinivasa Govinda, is just around the corner, preparation attains its peak in ISKCON Bangalore. Devotees, in lakhs, are expected to visit the temple on this auspicious day this year. Keeping this in mind special arrangements have been made for preparation and distribution of prasadam.
Over hundred cooks have been toiling for over three days to prepare more than 75,000 Ladoos which is one of the most significant aspects of the Vaikunta Ekadashi. The total weight of ladoos alone exceeds 6 tonnes. Additionally, several varieties of sweets and savories which include over 10,000 pieces of badam puri and about 1 tonne bhoondi packets to be provided to sevakartas and donors are also prepared. The packing of these sweets was facilitated by more than 90 volunteers from Bhajan Mandali and the temple.
With an estimate of over a lakh devotees visiting the temple to receive the blessings of Lord Srinivasa Govinda, arrangements to provide free prasadam to all are also being made. 17 large cauldrons of special payasam will be prepared to cater to this requirement. The payasam is specially prepared with sabu dana(tapioca pearls) for the benefit of devotees maintaining a fast on Vaikunta Ekadashi.
In addition, prasadam arrangements for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the convenience of staff, media personnel, security personnel and other volunteers will also be made. Fruits and milk will be served for all devotees maintaining a fast.
