All of us could do with saving money during the winter. Not only is it an expensive time of year, with Christmas and all the festive celebrations, but it is also the most expensive time of year to heat and light your home.
While nobody wants to reduce the festive spirit at Christmas by penny pinching, or save money on heating bills by having to spend the evenings shivering but money can be saved on your heating bills, without having to reduce your comfort and warmth.
The key to saving money is to make the maximum use of your existing radiators by ensuring they are running as efficiently as possible. Radiators should of course be regularly bled. This prevents air from building up inside which prevent the hot water from heating the surface of the radiator. For older systems this may have to be done regularly but you can get automatic radiator valves that will bleed the valves regularly and save you having to remember to do it yourself.
However, to really make some savings one of the best things you can do is boost the power of your output using reflective radiator panels and foil. These devices fit behind the radiator and their specially designed reflective surfaces bounce the heat, that otherwise would have been soaked up into the back wall.
Radiator panels can be fitted behind almost any existing radiator system, without the need for a plumber or to remove the radiators. They are inexpensive to buy and are usually sold discounted for bulk items.
Radiator panels and reflective radiator foil can dramatically increase the heat output of the radiator; producing more heat for a lot less cost. Radiator panels can save both money and emissions and help reduce your carbon footprint as well as helping you reduce your heating bills.
