Forget any worries about parcels being sent to Coventry by using a reliable delivery company

While being sent to Coventry has negative connotations, when it comes to parcel delivery there is strong, and growing demand for the many services available. It may have been the target of vast numbers of Luftwaffe bombs during the Second World War, but Coventry has steadily been rebuilt, and is now is involved in re-shaping itself in a post-industrial age.

Motor vehicles, cycles and machine tools were all once made in the city in huge numbers, and it was home to such world-famous names as Jaguar, Massey-Ferguson, Peugeot and Alfred Herbert Ltd the last of these one of the biggest manufacturers of machine tools in the world. Today, the city has the distinction of being the place where London's iconic black cabs are built, by LTI (formerly London Taxis International). Over 45 years, more than 100,000 of these vehicles have been produced.

There are two universities within the city's boundary, Coventry University, which occupies a modern city-centre site, and the University of Warwick. The latter has permanently featured in the list of the top ten universities in the United Kingdom. Together, they have a student population of more than 40,000, who contribute heavily to Coventry's economy. The city has a long history of scientific and technical research, and was the birthplace of Frank Whittle, the inventor of the jet engine.

The city covers a total area of just over 38 square miles, and its population stood at just over 310,000 in 2010, which is down from its early 1980s peak, but still represents a doubling in fewer than 80 years. Although it is only 11 miles from Birmingham International Airport, Coventry also has an air terminal of its own even closer to the city, from which direct cargo services operate to Belfast, Dublin and Eindhoven.

The UK motorway network encircles the city, with the M6 north-south route, the M69, which connects the M1 and the M6, and the M40 to western London via Oxford all offering good onward links to many parts of the UK. Coventry is also on the Birmingham spur of the West Coast main railway line, which connects London and Glasgow. Whether business contacts, students, family or friends are the receivers, they can all benefit from an excellent level of service from the leading international courier companies, helping to ensure that links remain strong, and that business can reap the benefits.

Strong competition between courier companies ensures that there is plenty of choice of services offering parcel delivery to Coventry, so users can pick the one which best suits their budget and the urgency of their consignment.
