From the depths of the Georgia mountains, and the bowels of Adult Swim, Squidbillies has become a late night ritual for many, and an akward silence for those not in tune to Squidbillies jokes and antics.
Either way you cannot deny the humour pouring out of Dave Willis (of Aqua Teen Hunger Force), and Jim Fortier who has worked on such Adult Swim favorites as The Brak Show and Space Ghost Coast to Coast.
Providing a morbid, surreal style of humor, Squidbillies depicts the life and times of Georgia native squids, The Cuylers.
Ranging from drug use to sexual exploitation, Squidbillies is 15 minutes of satirical mayhem, brought to you by none other than poorly drawn animations. This show in my opinion is under-rated, and quite relative to the southern adult.
Meet the cast:
Early Cuyler
The patriarch of the squid clan. Spent 15 years in the joint. Owns three teeth and a hair-trigger temper. Inbred to the point of blacking out. Fun to drink with.
Rusty Cuyler
Early's illegitimate son. Raised by wolves for 11 years. Now raised by Early. Sometimes misses the wolves. Expresses himself by revving his Camaro until it locks up. Currently listening to Krokus on his iPod.
Granny
The spiritual head of the family. A voice of both wisdom and confusion. Refuses to die.
Lil
Early's cosmetically-challenged sister. A caring surrogate mother to Rusty, when she isn't cooking meth.
Dan Halen
President and CEO of Dan Halen Sheetrock International, which specializes in sheetrock, sheetrock mud, sheetrock screws, pharmaceuticals, global mass media, covert military operations and affordable baby food for your toddler.
Sheriff
The lawdog of this sleepy community. Has the heart of a lion and the mind of a child. Imagine if Roscoe P. Coltrane and Andy Griffith got together and had a beautiful baby. Now you know his fantasy.
Squidbillies also boasts a large list of guest appearances ranging from the legendaryDavid Allen Coe, toChad Ochocinco.
