January 11, 2011 at 7pm SUMC Nursery School and Kindergarten will host families interested in registering for the 2011/2012 school year. Child care will be available during the session for preschool age children.
The evening will begin with an overview presentation of the preschool and then an opportunity to visit classrooms and meet the teaches for each age level. Teachers will present a glimpse of a typical day at SUMC Nursery School and Kindergarten. There will be ample time for questions and answers.
After the teacher presentations staff will be available for parents to register your child. All registration materials will be available that evening.
The Sharonville United Methodist Nursery School was originated by the members of the Sharonville United Methodist Church to serve the preschoolers of the Sharonville Community. Our sessions occur Monday through Friday with morning sessions from 9:20 to 11:50 and afternoon sessions from 12:30-3:00. (Some classes have 2 sessions, some have 3). The school is not a cooperative school but we are pleased to accept parental volunteers
The school's program uses:directed activities,independent work,small group work, andlarge group discussion.Unit related activity centers within each classroom include:Math. Readiness,language development, reading readiness,science exploration,music appreciation an art experimentation.These activities encourage small motor development. Children enjoy large motor activities in the classroom, on the playground and the Large Motor Room. Ohio's Early Learning Standards are demonstrated throughout the curriculum. Annual Get Acquainted meetings with parent AND child occur before school begins each year. In-school parent conferences occur twice yearly.
