The Taiwanese firm HTC have firmly established themselves as smartphone heavyweights thanks to the quality found on their excellent range of models. The new 7 Mozart does nothing to harm this reputation, and in fact pushes itself to the front of the current crop of Windows 7 devices.
As with most HTC handsets, the Mozart is a stylish mobile that benefits from sleek lines combined with high end materials that make the model both look and feel great. Much of the handsets chassis is constructed from aluminium. This not only looks good but helps the phone feel robust and durable. At just 1.9mm in depth, the phone is impressively slimline, especially as AMOLED technology isn't used for the screen, which is a thinner display. The other measurements are fairly standard smartphone dimensions at 19mm height and 60.2mm width. HTC have opted away from a very large screen on this model, instead offering a reasonable and very pocketable 3.7 inchs. This LCD screen looks great graphically thanks to a very high resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The screen is touch sensitive and works using the capacitive method, regarded as the best available thanks to its great responsiveness. The decision to fit a smaller display than the massive 4.3" found on the HD7 could prove very wise, with many people commenting that the larger screen occasionally make the handset to large overall.
A light sensor as well as an accelerometer and proximity sensor combine to make the screen a very impressive aspect of this model. Like other Windows 7 handsets, the HTC 7 Mozart does not offer a micro SD card slot. Where this may not pose to much of a problem to many users, others may find the 8GB of internal storage a little restrictive. The size of the processor is on the other hand very impressive, and at 1Ghz, means that the Mozart zips through any task you ask of it at great speed. The battery supplied is 1300mAh, slightly smaller than many available, however given the smaller screen size found on this model, the result is less strain on the battery. Thus you can expect about 360 hours of standby time or nearly 7 hours of talktime on this model. Whether you are into your photography or filming your own video footage, the Mozart should prove an able companion. The still camera can take snaps at a resolution of 8 million pixels and the video facility boasts impressive 720P HD capture. HTC have produced a quality handset in the from of the 7 Mozart. It really does cater for everybody, and whether you purchase a phone on looks, specification or functionality, this model has something for everybody.
