The issue of how to generate leads, preferably quality leads, is one of the most discussed and least understood in the network marketing industry. Pretty much everyone out there has a super secret method for generating tons of leads for your business. If you just give their system a try, you will have thousands of prospects bagging down your door, begging you to join your business. It's true that one of the most important success factors in network marketing is the quantity of leads you are able to generate. What really determines how successful you are though is how effectively you use those leads.
It's important to clarify the distinction between leads and prospects (or qualified leads). Generating leads is not really very difficult. If you have a lead you simply have the name and contact information of someone who may or may not be interested in your products or business opportunity. A lead becomes a qualified lead or prospect once you have some additional information about them. It could be something like the fact that they opted in to your website or sent a request to receive more information about the product you are selling. It's also useful to know if your leads have ever been in a network marketing business before or have taken an MLM Training course.
One of the problems with many of the so-called lead generation systems out there is that they use a very generic offer that doesn't really qualify your leads properly. So while they claim to be delivering top quality leads you are really getting something that resembles pulling names from the phone book. Using a funded proposal is one way to ensure that you are getting qualified leads. A funded proposal is a method whereby you offer your potential prospects a product or service that is related to your main business. This could be MLM Training courses or an autoresponder. The people who inquire about this product or service become first level qualified as they have expressed interest. The people who actually purchase this product or service are considered second level qualified as not only are they interested but they are actually willing to pay to receive it. These would be considered very high quality leads by anyone with a network marketing business and are very valuable. Many people make a decent living simply be generating high quality leads and selling them to other people.
You don't have to use a funded proposal as your main marketing method but you do need to ensure that you are presenting a quality offer to your prospects that will interest them in your product or service and be relevant enough to your main network marketing business that they will become quality leads for that business. I generally prefer to offer MLM Training to my prospects. This actually accomplishes two things for me. It provides me with qualified leads for my business but it also delivers the most useful product to them. Most people who are searching for a network marketing business or information about how to succeed in network marketing really need quality MLM training. By providing it to them, I position myself as someone who can help them. Offering MLM Training actually provides me with one additional benefit as I end up attracting people who are actually interested in learning how to succeed as opposed to using some special marketing system. People interested in learning are the ones who will ultimately succeed with their network marketing business. Most of my MLM Training content deals with how and where to advertise online to ensure that you attract the right sort of prospects for your business, prospects that will convert into new distributors in your business.
