Use The Right Sized Padded Envelopes When Sending Your Package

When you are sending anything through the post, it is important that you put your items into something that is suitable for them. Obviously for a normal letter or something similar you can just use an envelope, but when you need to send things that are bulkier then you need other options. For particularly large items then a cardboard box can be suitable but for others padded envelopes can be the best thing to use. When you choose to use these to send anything though, you should make sure that the size that you are using is suited to the item you are sending.

If you go onto any online packaging store then you will be able to see straight away that there are a lot of different sizes that can be bought. From the smallest sizes that are typically 90mm x 145mm up to the largest ones that can be around 340mm x 445mm. Each size that is available can be suited for different things and you should try to get the best option each time although slight variations obviously wont really matter.

If we look at a few possible examples then it makes it easier to understand why the right size can be important. Lets say that you are sending something small such as jewellery or a watch through the post, there is no point in using a large envelope as the contents will just be rattling about inside. On the other hand, if you are sending something larger such as a DVD or a small gift then you need to make sure that there is ample room for it to fit in. It is this that can cause the biggest problem for you, if you send a small item in a larger envelope then it is not ideal but wont create too much trouble. If, on the other hand, you try to squeeze something into one that is too small then you may well find that you will end up with a burst package. If this occurs then there is clearly a much higher risk of your goods either being damaged or lost if they fall out.

Padded envelopes can be an extremely effective form of protection for items that you send through the post but you must try to make sure that you use the right size. If you have any doubts then buy ones that you can see are clearly going to be big enough as one that is slightly too big is much better than one that is slightly too small.
