Trane heat pump prices differ based on their features, energy efficiency and overall performance. They are categorized in four groups the standard efficient units, the high efficient units, the super efficient units and the ultra efficient units. So as the names of these categories describe, the ultra efficient units are the high-end pumps; while the standard efficient units are the low-end pumps of Trane.
Most of the features are present in all types of units except the two-stage operation and the ComfortLink features. The latter features are only available in the high-end units. The first one pertains to the two compressors responsible for heating and cooling processes, while the second feature relates to the automatic charging, configuring and calibrating of communication key components of the pumps to indoor units. Both these processes are great features but in terms of practicality, they are mostly recommended for bigger homes or spaces. Also, even equipped with these features, the heat pump prices of Trane's high-end units are still not the highest priced in the market. They are still cheaper than a number of heat pump models today.
Another obvious difference between the Trane heat pump categories are their heating efficiencies, their cooling efficiencies and their nominal sound levels. As expected, the low-end types have the lowest nominal sound level rate of 78, while the high-ends have the highest sound level rate of 74. The cooling efficiencies of the heat pumps range from 15.00 to 19.00 SEER with the latter rate for the high-ends. While the heating efficiencies range from 8.5 HSPF to 9.0 HSPF, with the latter rate for the high-end units. Despite the low rates of the standard types, they are practical and good enough for smaller spaces or homes.
According to the Energy Star standards, the higher the HSPF of the units, the better their performances are. Thus, it is evident that the ultra efficient units are the best units of Trane in overall performance; but with its 9.0 HSPF rating, it is still not the best in the market today because the highest recorded rate in the US is 9.4 HSPF. However, Trane's standard units are still not the least in terms of performance. The lowest HSPF rate in the country is 7.0 and this means that the Trane standard units are better off than many units in the market today. Not really bad for the standard line.
