Morning walk..Morning walk... once upon a time in Pakistan!

Way back 60 years from now, when Pakistan emerged as a new born state, it was more than what this contemporary generation can think of. There was no such concept of mugging, loot, or burglary. Our currency had not been devalued then and even one rupee could have bought you petrol and food items that are deemed to consider wholesome. This was not the end to modest pricing. Everything and every Pakistani were honest and pure and inflation was figured out on the basis of the fact that to what extent one owns shelter? Today, far from the consideration of shelter, an average Pakistani seeks food and clothing, as if shelter has become a secondary issue.

Shelter has no doubt become a secondary choice for those who find difficulty in making both their ends meet to acquire honest' livelihood. Honesty is of course rare and expensive, and this is the reason why every single Pakistani these days opt dishonest means whether it is to run household affairs or running giant businesses. Dishonest means are the cheaper ones, affordable items easily bought in the market of ethics'. I believe for this reason have we witnessed every nationalist hero to be honest', as he had persuaded no bargaining on buying true ethical values, values that we run short of severely.

While I was having a brisk walk yesterday, a grandfather figured group sidled beside me sharing their emotional experiences regarding our Motherland. What it takes to be little emotional, it is a fact that we are not devoid of emotions? We have plenty of feelings that make us burn inside and why not? What do we have besides feelings? There is a difference when we blame others for every plight and when we feel ourselves responsible for what we are witnessing today. When one compares this era with that of a newly appeared nation, it seems everything has changed. It would be better to conclude that everything has transformed into a negative reality today. Realities, which our grandparents would never assumed then. From people to places, from metropolitan cities to suburbs and from masses to a layman, everything has been demoralized' including us. "Reality bites after all!"
