Having a luxury duvet cover for each bed in my home, I set out to find the most comfortable and light weight duvet inserts. I gravitated immediately towards a Hungarian goose down, which I have heard that we would come to enjoy the most for our Master bedroom. I found many sites online in various costs, colors and sizes. My husband, being so warm natured, surely wanted me to find something light weight, but cozy. I was more concerned about it being machine washable and not having to drag it to the cleaners each month. Plus, it was important to me, to make sure it was hypoallergenic, due to my many allergies.
I purchased this oversized duvet insert in white. It feels amazing! Even though I thought the cost was a wee bit spendy, I have no qualms now that we are enjoying the superior feel and comfort if gives us. The advertisement for the Hungarian goose down duvet inserts claimed to give warmth and quality, with less weight, due to huge clusters, and would fill our oversized duvet. It is all it should be!
For our children's beds, I chose to find comforters, rather than go to the expense of buying a spendy duvet insert that would end up on the floor in front of the television, covered with doggy hairs, and who knows what else! Comforters worked well as a duvet insert, for smaller beds, and the children were allowed to choose the colors they preferred, as they had their duvets. Although I heard many an, Ohhh Mom', I just had to make an agreement with them first, to take the comforters out from the duvet before bringing them into our dog hair city' tv room. It seems only Mom's care about this, as kids could not care less. Makes me laugh at times, until I am laundering their comforters on a weekly basis. Ugh!
The comforters I purchased for the children came with large pillows made out of the same fabrics and colors. That find was a bonus! Each are soft goose down and hypoallergenic. The comforters are extremely warm and comfortable which is fitting for our cold winters on the East Coast. No complaints coming from these kids about them being cold anymore!
So, if you are looking for duvet inserts for yourself, I recommend the Hungarian goose down. One of my best purchases, and I feel best investments, I have ever made for my bedroom. For the children, messy or not, doggy hairs or not, I say find a great comforter as a duvet insert, and the children will be satisfied. Comforters come in a variety of colors, sizes, prints, and fabrics. There are many great sites online at various prices, ranging from low to high prices, coming in warm and warmer, and plus, they are machine washable, and that easily will fit your needs. Have fun in your search. I know I did, as I am most happy with my selections, and would do it all over again!
