3R's of the Waste Hierarchy
3R's of the Waste Hierarchy

Recycling is the process of converting used materials to new products. It is the best way for the prevention of producing waste. It plays a vital role in reducing the use of fresh materials, the use of energy and the minimize air and water pollution.

It is also the modern technique and key factor to proper waste management. It comes third among the 3 participants of waste hierarchy i.e. REDUCE, REUSE, and RECYCLE

The law and procedures to achieve proper waste management means to lessen the production of waste at community and every individual level. We should understand the fact that less material that is being utilize consequently the lesser waste is generated. Hence improving product durability is also a common way to reduced waste.

For individual contribution, we can able to reduce waste production by means of buying lesser products. For instance we did, better if we can choose products that comes in longer span of life. Broken materials can be repaired to minimize waste and walking or jogging is also an option to reduce the use of fuel in transportation.

And also we have to limit the use of landfill for the segregation of biodegradable waste and we can sort into another ways development to have waste dumped off in landfills instead.

If I were to ask, I would love to have legislation but beyond by purpose such as:

Collection for recycling

Proper disposal for banned materials like tire and batteries

Sorting and labeling recycled material

As history confirms, during early B.C, reusing is the most common way of humans to accumulate product, when they cannot convert our resources due to the absence of technology. During WW2 recycling has been given enough attention because of shortage until the war ends. 3R's were kept and practice till the present time.
