Today I will put pen to paper, or keyboard to web rather, and discuss my views on the music and persona of Miley Cyrus vs Lady Gaga. These are two of the most fascinating American music artists of our day. To begin with, I've never been a big fan of pop music. Actually, that's not entirely accurate, now that I come to think of it. There was a time when Madonna, George Michael, and even the Pussycat Dolls all had me rockin and rollin in my car on my way to and from work. I've even had my fair share of pop music ringtones.
But that was then, and this is now.
Today, my listening tastes have matured, but I still find both Miley Cryus and Lady Gaga to be irresistibly fascinating. Miley got her start in entertainment on the Disney Channel's "Hannah Montana" TV program. Have you ever seen an episode? There is some very adult humor in the show. It can be juvenile, but it is truly a great comedy show. I would even dare to say that it is deserving of at least an Emmy nomination in the best comedy category.
The music of Miley Cyrus is more on the pop dance side of things, though the singer claims her most recent Album is more techno than anything. But I seriously doubt the girl has ever been to a proper dance club or event in Europe where techno reigns supreme.
Lady Gaga, or Lady G as I like to call her, was born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. Try saying that after you've had a few Bailey's! Lady G began her music career performing in New York City in 2003. Long story short, she ended up being signed by Akon's record label, and the rest as they say is history. Miss Gaga's style is definitely all about glitz, glam, and doing your own thing. To that we say, you go, girl! A slew of number one singles and albums has bombarded the world since 2008, and they keep on coming.
Will Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga ever perform a song together? The world anxiously awaits!I do hope to meet either Miley Cyrus or Lady Gaga one day:)
