I have written several different reviews on woodworking software, so writing a Teds woodworking review wouldn't be any different, I thought. Usually, I start working on my reviews by actually reviewing the products web-page, while trying to familiarize myself with the actual product after I bought it. One thing that was very unusual on the Teds Woodworking product page was the listing of two highly distinguished woodworking magazines, making pretty positive and strong statements about the product Teds Woodworking. For one, the American Woodworker Magazine stated that the program is an "Extensive selection of plans with amazing clarity thumbs up!", and the Chief editor of the Woodwork Magazine went even further by stating that "I've read numerous books and bought several online woodworking plans and this is clearly the best that is on the market in every respect." I do not give myself an unlimited amount of time when reviewing a new product, and I have to admit that it definitely took quite some time for me to become familiar with all the things Teds woodworking has to offer, but, yes, I definitely was surprised by both the quality and the quantity of the plans and blueprints contained in the package.
As far as the quantity, the package comes with over 16,000 woodworking projects, anything I personally have ever seen or envisioned to be made out of wood was right there it is pretty well organized, so if you are looking for a certain bench, desk, chair, shed, etc. design, you will definitely find it; yes, one needs to be a little patient with oneself, that at least was my impression, as there is just so much to discover. Bu the quantity is definitely there.
As far as the quality well, that is usually a big problem, in particular when it comes to the accumulation of plans, blueprints, guides, etc. in one single package. Most of the times, people coming out with these packages simply try packing as much information in one software package, but it becomes fairly quickly obvious that the quality cannot live up to the standards. Well, In the case of Teds Woodworking we are talking a different story; the software package is full with high-quality prints and color pictures. Others who had a chance to review teds woodworking agree for the most part with the advantage of these high-quality pictures; many appreciate in particular these pictures and drawings as they visualize the entire process. Yes, there is plenty of text to read the exact assembly steps necessary, but through the addition of pictures, every projects simply becomes easier to visualize.
Apart from the very detailed plans and blueprints, the program has some really nice bonus packages, like 150 detailed videos or a designer software that allows for designing your very own drawings / projects.
