Should you have young children it's also an easy way to quickly get hold of them. just to make sure if they are still okay and if they are in fact behaving.
Some other "nice to have" items might also contribute to not only our overall ease, but in addition to our basic safety! If we have automated gates or garage doors we don't have to climb out of our cars when we arrive home during the night - we just press the key on our remote control, wait for the gate and garage door to open, drive in, push the button and voila! Safe and secure. On a rainy day this is naturally a lot more welcome, as we don't end up completely soaked while attempting to unlock our gates!
