Why Keeping A Good Posture Is Important
Have you ever wondered why piano benches look so
uncomfortable? Anyone who plays the piano knows why and it
is because pianists have to have a specific posture to play
properly. If they are hunched over the piano then it is much
harder to play and it does not look as nice when they are
performing in front of big crowds. A piano bench is
necessary to play a piano because can you imagine playing
the piano standing up? That would not work and pianists
would have major back problems. If you do not have places to
store your music, you can actually purchase a sheet music
cabinet.
Again, posture is extremely important when it comes to
playing the piano. Sitting up straight is very important.
Piano players, as well as other people who play musical
instruments usually have recitals where they play in front
of many people. Everyone is watching them and it is much
nicer to watch someone play the piano when they are sitting
up than when they are slouching over their computer and look
like they are going to fall asleep or are getting bored. By
not having a back to the bench, it forces the pianist and
reminds them to keep their posture in place.
Just like you are supposed to keep a good posture when you
are sitting at a desk or really anywhere, you should while
you are playing piano. If you are good at it, then you will
most likely be spending a lot of your time sitting at the
piano. If you developed a back problem, you may not be able
to play anymore. You can damage your spine and hurt your
neck by hunching. The first thing you learn when you take
piano lessons, however, is your posture. Piano teachers make
it a very important part of learning how to play.
Posture is not the only important part about playing the
piano. Being organized and knowing your music is also very
important. If you have a bench that stores your music or a
cabinet that stores it, then you can know at all times where
it is. If you are very big into the music and playing the
piano is something that you like to do every day and then
you probably have a lot of different music that you would
like to keep organized and in good shape. Keeping it kept
away and protected in cabinet is a good idea. You can even
alphabetize the music by composer or title so you can find
it more easily.
Whether you play the piano all the time or it is just
something you like to do every once in a while because you
took lessons a while back or you just think it is fun, these
things are still important. Keeping good posture is a good
thing for everyone and not just when playing the piano.
Being organized is also something that not only piano and
musical instrument players, but anyone could do to make
hobbies much more enjoyable.
