Lalgudi GLalgudi G. Jayaraman along with his son Lalgudi G.J.R. Krishnan presents the Gana Sagaram, a true musical feast made possible through their adept violin playing skills. They bring about a celebration of Carnatic music in this album by rendering an assortment of Varnams, Thillanas and kritis. Some of the songs that are captured in Gana Sagaram are Lalgudi G. Jayaramans own compositions such as the Varnam in Charukesi raga and Thillanas in Yamankalyani and Bhimplas ragas. Lalgudi G. Jayaraman is an expert violin player, vocalist and composer who believes there is a lot more to be learnt in the area of music and has always sought more creativity and imagination in his music. In every performance, he attempts to surpass himself and has been successful in achieving it. He is thus a great contributor to the world of music and his achievements are something to be preserved and cherished. Like Father Like son, Lalgudi G.J.R. Krishnan does full justice to this saying. He followed along the footsteps of his father and started learning music at an age of five. He gave his first performance in the year 1973 and became instantly famous in the music circles. He has been the recipient of awards such as Best violinist Award by Music Academy, Madras and Yuva Kala Bharati by Bharat Kalachar. The performance is rich in rhythm and melody and brings out the individual musical traits of both the violin maestro, Lalgudi G. Jayaraman and his son. They are accompanied on the Mridangam by the famous Mridangam virtuoso and composer, Professor Trichi Sankaran. His support rendered to the father-son duo exalts the whole performance and leaves the audience in a state of jubilation.
