Pros and Cons of Mobile Computing

Our needs for computers actually depend on our computing needs and that is why we should first be able to identify our computing needs in order to determine if we really need mobile computing or not.

Mobile computing is a term which describes the use of computers on-the-go. Here are some of the advantages and disadvantages of using laptops rather than a desktop.

The very first thing that you should consider when you are purchasing a laptop for your mobile computing needs is that it should have all your required specifications such as the USB ports, expansion slots, microphone and headphone jacks, web camera, memory, storage capacity, processor, and battery life. This is to ensure that you will also be able to perform all the tasks that you can do on a desktop with a laptop.

You have to take note that laptops are of usually proprietary designs which means that the manufacturer is the only one who can upgrade your system. In other words, it is not possible for you to upgrade your laptop using a different brand name since the size and shape of some of the components may differ from each other.

With the technology today, there are laptops with DVD drive. You should also consider choosing a laptop which already has a DVD drive and not the one with just only CD drive. This is to ensure that you can insert DVD media into the drive anytime. In case that your laptop does not have a DVD drive, the only option is for it to have an external DVD drive which, by the way, is very much expensive and is also bulky to carry around with the laptop.

Laptops are more expensive as compared to desktops since the hardware components of a laptop are very much different from the hardware components of desktop computer.

Having laptops which you can bring and use anywhere you go is brought to you by our technology today.
