There can be a lot distractions at your home that may keep you from doing the work that needs to be done, like have small children at home during your work hours, or house hold chores and yard work need to be done, it is very easy to say I will clean my house first then get to work or I plant some flowers before I get started, but the truth is once your mind is distracted it is hard to get your mind back into working mode.
Working from home being your own boss means you get paid depending on the work you put in, if its freelance projects you have to complete the work first and you have to do it well, if running a online business it can be even harder then that it takes a lot of work to see any kind of money coming in. That's where it can get very frustrating working for your self, not having regular paychecks. It always is a good idea to start a home business while still working a regular job unless of course you have the funds to support not getting a pay check for a while until things start rolling.

It helps to write out weekly schedules and try to stick with it as much as possible, everyone knows it does not always work out that way but if you can try to use your daily work schedule as much as possible it will be a little easier not to get side tracked.
When you put your plan in action to work from home sit down with all household members and make it clear that this will be your job from now on, and that you will not be available at any time to run errand's just because you are home. Sometimes it is hard for people to understand that even you don't go to a job that your are still working. Set certain boundaries from the start.
