From the research studies, it has been found that the green tea is very useful to our health. But, at the same time, it contains caffeine which is very dangerous to the body when consume in high proportions.

There are some disadvantages of the green tea which have been listed here.If the level of caffeine is very high in our body, then it can cause insomnia, nausea or frequent urination. Frequently taking the tea can affect the liver and also kidney. The products derived from the tea contains large amount of polyphenols which are harmful to our health. It is advisable to reduce the intake of such tea or completely eliminate from the diet especially for the pregnant women.

Sometimes it may cause problem in the growth of the child and may develop complications. This is because the compound EGCG is very harmful to the body. There is another component named methotrexate in the tea which is also harmful to the body as it is very reactive with the enzyme named as DHFR. This enzyme is very useful to fight against the cancerous cells.

If the pregnant women reduce the amount of tea consumed, even then there are some risks caused due to the chemicals present in the tea. These risks include premature birth, low weight of the child during birth or there can be fatal death in some cases.

The side effects for the people who are very sensitive to caffeine are irritation, problems in getting proper sleep, restlessness and loss of appetite. The problems related to the stomach are most common among the people taking the tea. Thus, it is advised either to take the tea in fewer amounts or completely eliminate drinking it.
