Psychic is defined as someone that has the ability to predict an event before it happened. While there are a lot of misunderstanding, psychic do not have the ability to control people or make them do things they might not want to.
A psychic is just someone that always paying a really good attention to sign of everything around them. This also made them seems fraud to an extends. You would hear people says, "Off course she knows I'm married, I told her I had a wedding, she is not a psychic, she is just good at reading things". While case by case explanation requires careful judgement but the bottom line is reading a person, weather or even why things happen at what time is part of what psychic do.
A psychic would read cards, palm lines and in the old days an inside of animals. Basically anything that gives out the vibration the psychic is looking for. A psychic would also be good at what she/he does just like everyone else by honing in on a particular skills and experience. In simpler term a psychic that good at reading card for example will probably not that good at reading an inside of an animal.
Is a psychic very much different than you and me? There is an easy way to explain this. I'll take an analogy of a soldier, specifically a sniper. A good snipper can hit a far away target every time, there will be misses though but only small percentage. Now, can you pick up a snipper gun and hit a far away target every time? Well, you might get lucky one time and that's about it.
If we come back to the question again and change the psychic with a snipper then you will see the similarities between the two. A snipper or a psychic are different than you and me simply because they have honed in on their skills, practice, experience through trial and error for a good period of time. Does that mean that you or me can never be a snipper or a psychic? Off course you can, you should not feel intimidated by anybody skills no matter how good the skills are. These people are once just like you and me. The different is that they were willing to spend their time to practice and more.
So bottom line is psychic is an ability (you know that already), just like a snipper ability. You are just as much as a snipper as you are a psychic. It is up to you to hone in on what is already inside of you and use it for your benefit.
