Social media tools that will help maximise your events

Many companies are increasingly looking at new tools that will aid their event marketing strategies, enabling them to reach wider or more targeted audiences.

Event marketing strategies incorporate a number of different elements, predominantly geared around face-to-face interaction. This face-to-face interaction is achieved by attending, hosting and sponsoring showcases, networking meet-ups, etc.

Whilst the focus of events of events is face-to-face interaction, they could also be a great opportunity to build long-term business relations by effectively integrating social media. Here are five ways that you can easily incorporate social media into event marketing:

LinkedIn: LinkedIn gives you the option of sending invitations to directly to a mailbox where the recipient can opt for attending events.

Facebook: The Facebook business page has event' button where you can create an event. The event will be shown to all the users.

Twitter: Tweet about the event. Use hash tags with the tweet. When an event has a hash tag it becomes more searchable by the target audience.

Blog about the event: This can supplement event information you already have on the website. The option to reply or add comments to the blog will give others an opportunity to interact with you.

Venue social media: Many popular conference venues in London like and Central Hall Westminster have Twitter and Facebook pages. You can even write on their face book wall about the events. You can use these tools to maximise your scope, alternately, you can request that the venue team posts about your event.

Promote social media for good communication whenever you're planning and executing an event and your extravaganza will turn out to be more engaging and more popular than you may have ever realised possible. The attendees must be able to easily find you on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, and LinkedIn. Do not forget to follow them on Twitter and invite them to your LinkedIn group.
