New Years Resolution Evaluation Make A New Years Resolution That Pays

It may only be December and Christmas hasn't arrived yet, but many people are already thinking about their New Year's Resolutions. The reason they are is because they remember the ones they made last year that failed or new circumstances have created the need for some new ones.

All in all, I bet that "make more money" is one of them. With the stark realization that they didn't save enough money to pay cash for Christmas and the credit cards are already maxed out, people are determining that they need to find a way to make more money in the new year.

If making more money in the new year is one of your New Year's Resolutions, here are 3 options to consider:

1. Get a second (or third job). This can be a viable possibility, but usually for short term. It doesn't take very long to realize that the extra hours spent at the second job makes a lot of wear and tear on yourself and the family. If you choose this option, count the costs up front and use the money to pay off those extra debts rather than spending it frivolously. Then when you terminate you have accomplished your goal.

2. Look for a better, higher paying job. This too can be a viable option and under normal circumstances would be a good option. But unemployment is alarmingly high and jobs are at a premium. Also, all too often people have switched jobs and found out that it was not what they expected and perhaps have "burned their bridge" to the last job. They certainly don't always work out the way we plan, especially if a geographical move is involved. If you choose this option, do your diligence to make sure the switch will actually make for a better situation in pay, benefits, long-term advancements and overall living conditions.

3. Start a part-time business. This has become an increasingly popular option for many who find themselves economically behind the rise in inflation or caught in some unfortunate financial circumstances.

While there are numerous part-time home based opportunities you might consider, like lawn and landscaping business or a cleaning service, to Direct Sales and MLM companies, they will still require you to spend countless hours away from home and come with some obvious challenges and risks.

There is another home-based business that is growing with increasing popularity and that's Online or Internet Marketing. Many people are looking for and finding a way to work from home, literally at their own computer while creating a substantial part-time, or even full-time, income. There are a lot of enticing internet oppotunities to look at, so I suggest you do your research to find one that you can feel good about and provides you with the proper training and support.

Whatever option appeals to you, a New Year resolution to make more money is a great way to get a head start on next year's Christmas spending.
