I've been a PC person for almost two years now. A PC person is a term I invented for people like me who spends more time in front of a computer than anything. Yes, as vain as I am, I always spend more time playing games on my PC and chatting with friends on Facebook more than fixing my hair in front of the mirror.
So, we PC people rely on the Internet for just about anything from the latest news to shopping. Now, the computer is becoming more and more of a competitor to TV sets. Even without a TV set nowadays, you can watch anything online from funny stuff on YouTube to interesting documentaries. Unfortunately, TV shows are not for free and watching it on an illegal online stream can be considered stealing. Also, it is inconvenient as these illegal streams can be taken down at any moment.
If you are watching a movie and the stream went down just when things are heating up on screen, I'm sure you would be more than frustrated. Thankfully, TV show producers have come to acknowledged the Internet as a viable marketing platform. They are now syndicating their shows for online streaming and one service provide I know of is Satellite Direct TV which is a software which when installed on a computer would let you watch hundreds of channels (or so they say).
My beef with this is that it costs too much. At almost $150, it is just way out of my league in terms of budget. Also, I cannot possibly watch all the channels available. Thankfully, the holiday season has slashed down the cost to just $50 which I think is pretty reasonable. With a long vacation coming up I'm sure I can get the most out of that $50.
