This will be the first of eight articles written for the beginner in affiliate marketing. I will post one new article , at least, and maybe two per week.
Being in an affiliate marketing home business is not that difficult now with the Internet at your disposal. It is less difficult now than the days when we had to depend on landline telephones and other sources of information just to keep an eye on their business.
So, with technology at our disposal, a day in their life of an affiliate marketer would be something like this:

The web site design has to be tweeked a little. A well-designed site will add toopt insfrom visitors. It will also increaseconversion rates.
Having done that, and if you are a merchant, it is time to submit the affiliate plan to directories that catalog affiliate programs. These directories are a method to interest people in joining and promoting your affiliate program. Some of these directories are:

* Commission Junction
* Amazon
* EBay
OK, now is the time to account for the conversions you are getting from your affiliates. There are telephone orders and mails to track down. Look to see if the
New clients are clicking through to your sales page. Recording the contact information that could be a valuable source in the future.
There are many resources to sort through. Ads, button ads, banners and recommendations to give out to your affiliates. The marketer knows that this is a good way of ensuring more sales. It's best to be visible and accessible.
Then there are eMails from your visitors to answer.. Do this quickly. Nothingturnsoff a customer faster than an unanswered email.
To prove to your visitors that you are working effectively and efficiently, customer service inquiries have to be paid close attention to. Nobody likes being ignored and visitors to your site are not always the most patient people. Provide fast answers that appear professional and friendly.
In the process of doing all the necessary things, the marketer might be logged in to a chat room where they interact with other affiliates that are under the same program. This is where you can discuss the best ways to promote your products.
There is so much to be learned in this business. It is a process that never stops. Support is important. Sharing tips and advice is a good way of showing it. There could be others logged into the chat room or forum who are thinking about joining and may be attracted by the discussion that is going on. Opportunities for business can be hidden anywhere.
Your newsletters and E-zines were updated days ago, so it is time for you to see if anything new is happening in the market. You can write about it in the marketer's publication, blog or broadcast eMails to be circulated to your visitors.
Reading these same publications is important for keeping up with new products. This is also where you put up a sale and promotion that your customers may want to know about.
It is a good time to show appreciation to those who have helped the marketer in the promotions and sale increase. There is nothing like mentioning the people, their sites and the work they have done that made it all work.
Of course, this information and praise will be published in your newsletters or blogs.
You still have time to write recommendations for those visitors who want credible sources for the products being promoted. It's also time to post some comments on how to be a successful affiliate marketer on another site where there are lots of beginners. Two birds with one stone. The marketer gets to promote the product as well as the program they are in. Who knows, someone may be inclined to join or buy.
Ok, this might not all get done in one day. But this does gives you an idea of how an affiliate marketer, a committed one that is, spends the marketing day.
Well, there you go. A day in the life of an affiliate marketer. Hope I didn't burst any bubbles but it is after all a lot like a job only you are working for yourself. The cost is yours and the income/profit is yours. If you set it up correctly you can even step away from it for a short while and just let it run by itself.
