This variation had not been identified in either of the child's parent's DNA, which leads researchers to believe that genetic anomaly may indeed be the cause of some cases of autism.
On the other hand, many believe that environmental factors play a crucial role in the development of autism. Vaccines, immunological ties, and viral causes are just a few examples. Other examples include exposure to toxins, pesticides, flame retardants, pre- and postnatal viruses, excessive ultrasounds during pregnancy, and even electronic devices. As for vaccines, numerous studies that claim that some individuals do have vaccine-induced autism have been released. One such example is exposure to the mercury preservative found in most childhood vaccines.
