When many people take their network marketing business online, they do not understand the correct way to market it. Many new internet marketers will promote their company website. It is very important for internet marketers to learn how to promote their business on the internet the proper way. They need to brand themselves as leaders instead of branding the company. They also need to learn how to drive traffic to their website and build a list. I will talk about those three important elements in detail.
Self Branding
It is very important that you brand yourself instead of branding the company. Many people will send their prospects to their company's website. The problem with that is most people have not built a relationship of trust with their prospect. If a prospect likes what they see on your company website, they will usually look it up in Google and find a leader that they feel will help train and mentor them. The reason why is because they don't really know if the person sending them to the website will help and train them. People don't join companies, they join people.
By sending someone to a lead capture page with a video of you on it, you will be able to brand yourself as a leader. People will hear you talk about yourself and what you have to offer. You will be able to capture their information and build a relationship with them through an auto responder. I will talk about this more in the building a list section.
The same thing goes with offline marketing. Many people drive around with the company's logo on it. The problem with that is they are branding the company. When someone sees a company logo, they will usually look it up on the internet and find a savvy internet marketer to join or buy from. So that is why you should not drive with your company's logo on the back of your car.
Driving Traffic
Driving Traffic is very important. If you got no traffic to your website, then you can convert them to lead and you can't make sales. You need to use several different methods for driving traffic to your site which include online and offline and paid and free. Some examples include the three foot rule, blogs, email blasting, google pay per click, yard sales, magazine advertisements, etc.
It is good to do a mix of both online and offline and both paid and free methods when marketing your business. However, you should not do too many of them. Just pick a few and stick with them until you have mastered them.
Building Your List
I am going to revisit self branding on this one. If you are sending people to your company's website, you have no way of capturing their information. The company might have a capture page, but you are really building their list instead of yours. If your company goes out of business or kicks you out, then you will be out of luck since the company owns the list and not you.
You need to send people to a capture page where you can build your own list and not some company's list. When people enter their name, email and phone number into your capture page, they will receive follow up emails through an auto responder. With an auto responder, you will be able to build relationships with your list and market to them low cost, high value educational products. If for some chance your company goes under and you had to find another primary company, you will be able to send an email out and signup some distributors.
