Many years ago I became fascinated by astrology and similar subjects and started to do readings. I studied and developed, just as my great grandmother had, and my grandmother and my mother, but I wanted to take it further and do it as a full-time career. I gave up my safe very well paid job and decided to do this properly, even though I did not have the advantage of a husband there with me paying the bills, or some sort of guaranteed income, and I had a huge mortgage to pay. Many would have said I was silly, but I put everything into it, a great deal of time and a lot of effort and it worked. As a result I became well known in my own right. In the meantime the plumber, housewife etc dabbled in it and it was really a hobby to them. Yes there are some people in The British Astrological and Psychic Society who are very gifted and experienced in these things, but for every one who is there is one who is just doing it as a hobby. So remember if you consult someone from any organisation that them belonging to it is no guarantee that they take it that seriously or are that well developed and experienced. Almost anyone can join a Society , but them just joining it and dabbling in it is no guarantee of excellence or seriousness.
